THE BIRTHPLACE OF THE GLG

About GLG

Get to know us

Located on the Cumberland/Lincoln line about 10 minutes North of Providence and about 2,200 square feet of personal training space.  Home to about 70 adults, middle school, high school, college and pro athletes from various schools up and down the east coast.  My dream of starting my own personal training facility became a reality in 2012.

I started off small since I have a family of my own and started to train out of my garage hence the name of the company Get Large Garage. After some great results from my clients the word started to spread.  With these results came more and more clients.  A dream came true when one of my first clients Nick Zammarelli was drafted by the Boston Red Sox out of High School.

A year after my start date, I am in a facility with tons of different pieces of equipment that help to reach the needs of each one of my clients.  We offer semi-private group, team and remote training at a reasonable price while having a family atmosphere.

Jason Oldham

Certified Fitness Trainer and Founder

Currently a Physical, Health and Adaptive Physical Education teacher at Colt Andrews Elementary School located in the historical district of Bristol, RI and proud owner of the Get Large Garage, LLC. I  graduated from Rhode Island College, May 2006 receiving honors for teaching excellence.  In June 2007, I was named Teacher of the Year in front of the Bristol Warren Regional School Committee for Byfield Elementary School.  In 2008, I started working part time for Bally's Total Fitness where I started to gain knowledge of membership sales and personal training while being promoted to assistant sale manager.

After three years of employment at the big box gym, I decided to work part time developing fitness programs for COZ (child opportunity zone) an after school program associated with the Bristol Warren Regional School District.  During this time I developed a program called Playout Loud through the Art of Strength.  As my family started to grow I knew I wanted to be closer to home.

In 2011, I came up with an idea about trying to provide affordable personal training opportunities for high school athletes.  I knew charging $60+ a session, meeting a client once a week isn't the most ideal situation for high school students to be able to see results.  I knew that I would have to provide a cost-friendly facility so I turned to my two car garage.  In no time, I became a certified personal trainer by the International Sports Science Association.  I started the Get Large Garage with two members out of my two car garage and now have a beautiful facility located inside Upper Deck in Cumberland, RI.  Twelve years later, the GLG is home to two Major League Baseball players, a handful of minor league baseball players along with individuals from middle school, high school, college along with adults.
